The Amazing Smell of Confirmation

I was out running errands and had to stop by Dillard’s to make a return. Since I’m still fairly unfamiliar with the store layout, I approach the escalators with caution. Which side is the up? The down? Always feels like a gamble.

As I rounded the corner to place my bet, I felt time slow down considerably. Mind you, I’m not a speed walker (I’m actually quite the sloth). I noticed that my movements and awareness of others around me kinda came to a screeching hault.

I saw two store employees walking towards me carrying their lunch chatting away. The smell of their pizza wafted over and smelled so good. I nearly came to a hault to allow them to cut in front of me around the bend.

They were chatting away. I couldn’t make out a word of it. Kinda sounded like Charlie Brown’s teacher–know what I’m talking about?

All of the sudden, a completely clear transmission came through the short woman and clear as day, I heard her say: “You can’t make this sh*t up.”

This phrase is a particularly dear one to me. I use it all the time.

Throughout 2015, the occurrences and events that have manifested can’t be made up. I am continuously saying “I can’t make this sh*t up” because I can’t. I can’t script life the way it has unfolded. It makes me laugh in disbelief because it is SO FUN.

Fun to see the connections, get the confirmations, and share to illustrate that life can AND does work out. No force required. You just have to be open and allow for the seemingly smallest of details to be meaningful.

The next time something catches your attention, give it the time of day. It’s showing itself to you for a reason, now do your part and be open to receive it.
